Follow Friday #6

. If you could change the ending of any book (or series), which book would you choose? Why and to what?  This is going to be a spoiler fest so try to write the title of the book as a dominant feature - and warn people about spoilers.  Oh, this is going to be a tough one. The one I'm really thinking of right now is an ARC, so I won't do it, way to many spoilers.  I felt like Breaking Dawn allowed a lot of people an easy way out, but I was satisfied in the end. Warning: Mockingjay Spoiler  Ho hum, what shall it be? Well, I think I am going with the Hunger Games and Mockingjay. I was horrified that Primrose died even after all Katniss did to save her. And, the whole Peeta versus Gale thing, well, I was always Teem Peeta but I feel like Katniss chose him because she was forced too. He was the only one around. Gale left to save the world and all that hero crap; so, what was she supposed to do. I am thankful that both Peeta and Katniss survived, because if not, I would have a whole lot more whining and griping to do. I truly thought they were going to just pull the carpet out from underneath them in the end. UGH!

I love Texas but it does suck sometimes. LOL! As for book releases...Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare, of course!

Q. In books like the Sookie Stackhouse (True Blood) series the paranormal creature in question "comes out of the closet" and makes itself known to the world. Which mythical creature do you wish would come out of the closet, for real?

 

Ah, well my answer would have to be the Revenants for Die for Me by Amy Plum. They are sexy and help people who truly need supernatural help. They fight against evil. And…did I mention they are SEXY!

Plus, they are not a popular paranormal creature, so it would be most excellent if they really did exist.

Yes I do. We finally found a little shitzu to fit in with our laid back family. Ella is the cutest dogly ever!

Follow Friday and Blog Hop

Q. If you could write yourself a part in a book, what book would it be and what role would you play in that book?

Oh, I like this question. 

I tend to be really unsure of myself and feel completely weird it company that I do not know. I have always wanted to be one of those girls who was confident, strong, and a leader...like Calla Tor in Nightshade, by Andrea Cremer. I would love to be Calla and have the problems (ie...Ren vs Shay) that she has. LOL!

Calla is so strong and does what she believes is right. She is respected by her pack to the point that they would do anything for her. She never whines...she just acts. Oh, to be Calla!

“What’s the LONGEST book you’ve ever read?”
(Note: I’m putting one caveat on this question. You aren’t allowed to say the Bible, Torah, Qur’an, or other religious/spiritual text.) Gosh, this is a hard question...I would have to say The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larson, or one of its sequels. Most of the books I read are about the same length, but those books seemed to take forever to read, even though I loved them.

Follow Friday #3 and Book Blogger Hop #1

Q. Talk about the book that most changed or influenced your life (was it a book that turned you from an average to avid reader, did it help you deal with a particularly difficult situation, does it bring you comfort every time you read it?). 

I love this question. When I was in high school, I read a lot of John Grisham. I loved his mysteries; however, as time went by and I was no longer living with mom and dad, and started paying my own bills, going to college...well, you get it, the things adults do...I didn't have time to read anymore. Then I had kids...and well, most of you know how that goes. 

I have seen this answer on a couple of other blogs, but I am answering the question honestly so...while at work, some ladies were talking about Twilight by Stephanie Meyer. At first I thought - no, vampires have never really been my thing. But the more I heard about the books, the more I thought...ok, I am going to read the first book at least. And then, I couldn't put them down. I was thankful that I was late into the series, so I didn't have to wait for the next one to come out. I read them in a week. Couldn't put them down. And then my oldest daughter read them and it gave us something fun to talk about. She would get so mad at me because I refused to tell her anything about the books...I just kept saying "Just read it." And as Amber at Me,My Shelf, and I said I don't want to hear that the books were poorly written or that there's no such thing as sparkly vampires because unless you have irrefutable evidence to the contrary...all vampires are fictional. 

And I haven't stopped reading since.

Even now, when I am depressed, upset or sad, I will reread The Twilight Saga because they bring me comfort and take me to a place other than the - all to many times - crazy place I live.

 So...how about you?
