- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)

Title: The Night Circus
Author: Erin Morgenstern
Publisher: Doubleday
September 13, 2011
Goodreads
Synopsis:My Teaser:
The circus arrives without warning. No announcements precede it. It is simply there, when yesterday it was not. Within the black-and-white striped canvas tents is an utterly unique experience full of breathtaking amazements. It is called Le Cirque des RĂªves, and it is only open at night.
But behind the scenes, a fierce competition is underway—a duel between two young magicians, Celia and Marco, who have been trained since childhood expressly for this purpose by their mercurial instructors. Unbeknownst to them, this is a game in which only one can be left standing, and the circus is but the stage for a remarkable battle of imagination and will. Despite themselves, however, Celia and Marco tumble headfirst into love—a deep, magical love that makes the lights flicker and the room grow warm whenever they so much as brush hands.
True love or not, the game must play out, and the fates of everyone involved, from the cast of extraordinary circus performers to the patrons, hang in the balance, suspended as precariously as the daring acrobats overhead.
Written in rich, seductive prose, this spell-casting novel is a feast for the senses and the heart.
They stand entwined but not touching, their heads tilted toward each other. Lips frozen in the moment before (or after) the kiss. - Page 225

Oh my gosh, I LOVED this book!! It was just so magical and beautiful and totally & completely original! And I don't know what it was about this one, but the cover is one of my favourites -- although I have to admit that I thought the tent was a doll when I first saw it LOL! x)
ReplyDeleteAwesome teaser, Kristin! :) I can't wait to read your review for this one!
Sigh..... I want to read this again.
ReplyDeleteI am really enjoying it so far, though I have decided to read it without any other stimulus because it takes away from the beautiful writing.

ReplyDeleteYeah, that's a good idea. My friend took FOREVER to read it, because he'd only read it while on the elliptical. I couldn't understand how he could even enjoy it like that.

ReplyDeleteJessica, I finished this book last night and it was amazing. I would definitely say it was paranormal, although I'm not sure the main characters would agree with me. LOL.
ReplyDeleteI just happened to be on that page when I posted this last night but I believe it is one of my favorite pieces of description. It paints a vivid picture.
