TBR Intervention is a weekly challenge hosted by
Dani @ RefractedLight , Ayanami @ Whatever you Can Still Betray,
and April @ Books4Juliet
The goal of this challenge is to help each other (fellow readers and bloggers) manage our enormous and constantly growing TBR (To-Be-Read) List. The rules are simple and everyone is encouraged to participate. It does not force you to commit to more than what you can manage to read in a week or so, but participants are encouraged to read at least one book within a week. You are free to choose the book you want to read and commit to this challenge. You may post your entry every Saturday, at the frequency of your choice--EVERY WEEK or EVERY TWO WEEKS. However, we will sponsor this event regularly every Saturday.
OMG! Long, long couple of weeks.
Good news...I finished Hereafter by Tara Hudson (which I wasn't sure would ever happen). I'm a glutton for punishment. You will hardly ever see me not finish a book, I'm afraid I might miss something. I've been like that since I was a kid...didn't want to go to bed 'cause I knew something spectacular was going to happen...only to be let down miserably. Kind of same thing with Hereafter.
Beautiful Chaos...simply amazing. I know tons of people don't really like the Caster Chronicle Series but I love them. They are just so different from everything else lurking around. Maybe it's just me? Who really knows.
Now...for the coming week...
I've started this one for review and have really enjoyed the first couple of chapters... I'm hoping to get the rest read this week. It's been sitting in my pile of TBR's for quite a while.
And...I've heard so many wonderful things about these books. It's been sitting on my TBR shelf on Goodreads and in real life since Sept 17, 2011. I'm really looking forward to reading this one.
Dark Lover is the first book of the Blackdagger Brotherhood right? I heard it's good. I have a copy of the book but I haben't read it yet. I'm looking forward to your thoughts! =) If you liked it, then maybe I'll be convinced to read it.
ReplyDeleteToo bad Hereafter was a let down. I hate it when it happens to me... but I'm glad you loved Beautiful Chaos. Is that the last book? I almost can't remember what happened in Beautiful Creatures *sigh* I'm not sure if I ever going to finish the series... but I hope I will before the movie. hehe.
P.S. You posted your TBR early today =) I was surprised to see your post hehe. Oh, and I'm loving IF I DIE. Sabine made me crazy in My Soul To Steal! Arrrggg! I want to smack that girl in the face. But TOD. Oh my TOD. He's adorable and sweet and thoughtful and I'm loving him more than NASH now. Though I feel sorry for Nash in a way, I like Tod for Kaylee. But never Sabine for Nash. I'd rather choose Emma. Tod and Nash are driving me crazy in a good way. I'm glad that I finally able to enjoy the books after My Soul To Save which was a bit let down for me, though I admit it's still good. =)
Lovelots,
April :)
I just brought Beautiful creature and can not wait to read it, especially now that it will be a movie. There hereafter was really disappointing to me as well, I just couldn't like it, it was boring!Janiera @This is From my Heart
ReplyDeleteI have the Dark Lover series on my TBR pile too! I really want to read them. Oh I need more reading time! :)

I'm so glad you finally finish Hereafter, I always wanted to read that book. I also want to read The Caster Chronicle series, but I haven't the books. I'm such a weird, I want them, but haven't looked for them!
ReplyDeleteHappy reading! And good luck with The Monter's daughter!
Xoxo!
Thanks Lis. I hope when you get to Hereafter, you have an easier time with it than I did. I highly recommend The Caster Chronicle Series. I love them but, like I mentioned, others have not...so? LOL.
ReplyDeleteI have wanted to read them for a while...I just never do it. I'm hoping to change that this week. LOL.
ReplyDeleteJaniera, I am so glad I am not the only one who struggled through Hereafter. I really was waiting for that "wow" moment that never happened. Oh well.
ReplyDeleteAnd Beautiful Creatures is a must read. Have you seen the cast line-up so far. I'm happy with their choices. It looks like it will be amazing. I only hope I'm not let down. LOL.
Hey girl. I'm on top of things today or yesterday as it maybe. LOL. I actually remembered about today's post and wanted to get it done. I've kind of been in a slump lately but I'm getting back to myself. You know how it goes.
ReplyDeleteYeah...Hereafter just didn't pull through for me. I probably would have been better off not finishing it, but that's another part of my personality I'm all to aware of...masochism. I live for pain. Okay...not really, but you get my point.
Dark Lover is the first book of The Black Dagger Brotherhood. Jennifer L Armentrout is always talking about how much she loves the books so I thought I would give them a try. I've read a couple of chapters and so far, so good.
There is supposed to be one more book after Beautiful Chaos. I can't remember what it's called though...Beautiful ?. LOL.
If I Die was my favorite of the SS Series. I think sometimes we have to push through the not so good in a series to get to the good. I found a quote in Acheron by Sherrilyn Kenyon that I love. "Sometimes everything has to go wrong before it can go right." This is my new life quote. LOL.
I'm glad you stopped by. I've been popping in Starbooks from time to time but I haven't been on the internet much lately. But I'm back...LOL.
Have a great weekend and sending my love your way!
LOL... I'm the exact opposite. I loved Hereafter, and am "ho-hum" about the Caster Chronicles. Is it bad that my favorite part of that first book was Ethan's aunts? I'd read a whole book about them. lol Lena and Ethan on the other hand...... eh. Sorry you didn't enjoy Hereafter more. I hate dragging myself through a book. That's never fun.
ReplyDeleteSo it looks like you have some interesting reads lined up this week! Good luck with those and I hope you enjoy them!
