And...I decided since I asked you to share your best Valentine's Day with me...I would share mine.

I'm not a big believer in Valentine's Day, mainly because mine have always sucked. And yes, I am happily married and have been for 17 years...with a 3 year separation thrown in during a very difficult time in our lives. We lost a son and it tore us to pieces...anywho, I digress.

My best Valentine's Day was during this separation. My best friend knew how bad I hated Valentine's Day. She had recently gotten engaged and was that sappy little lovebird single people despise...but, she broke into my apartment while I was at work and left me a huge teddy bear and my favorite chocolates. Then she showed up at my door, with her fiance and a friend, and they took me to dinner.

The fact that she could have spent her day on a romantic date with just her fiance but chose to include her lonely and pathetic (yes, I was pathetic at the time) friend, meant everything to me. You don't run across friends like Cortney everyday.

I have one giveaway currently running...check it out.

  1. Wow! Congrats to the winners! I love your Valentine's Day story. You have the very best of friends in Cortney! Valentine's and me don't really get along either. The media hypes it up too much. I like to cook a special meal for the whole family with candles and sparking juice and a yummy desert. Then there is no room for disappointment :) He hubby did buy me some beautiful flowers this year. He actually planned ahead, not usually his strong suit. LOL! hope you had a nice day.
