NaNoWriMo Anyone?

NaNoWriMo Anyone?

So, tomorrow is November 1 and most writers, or hopeful writers, know what this huge ordeal is. 50,000 words in 30 days? Sounds impossible, right? Well, it's not...though last years work is still being edited and revised and added to and... Well, anyway, I finished, so I'm off to go again. I have a story in my head, some plotting and outlining done, but ZERO words written.

I'd like to say I might post snippets and what-not, but I probably won't because this project is near and dear to my heart, parts of my real life are written into it and I'm not ready to share yet. However, I will absolutely keep you updated on my progress and Kelly M will be reading as I write, maybe we can get her to throw in her opinion once in a while...who knows!

So who else is joining in? Will you give us a hint as to what you'll be writing about? I'm going edgy contemporary...how about you?

~Kristin

  2. I'm in too! Similarly to you, I'm still revising last year's project. I haven't even re-read it all even though I'm attempting the sequel this year... err, tomorrow *sigh*. I'm scared but also excited to get into my characters' heads again. My project is an NA paranormal. Looking forward to seeing how you're getting along! I've gotten into contemporary over the past year :) Good luck!

    2. Haha ^^' I actually started writing barely before midnight... which was 2 hours ago. But I'm at 1690 now so I can go to bed ;) I hope you had a great start!
I'd like to add you but the page can't find your profile :( Are you sure there are no typos in the ID you gave me?

    3. Woohoo! Again! LOL! I had an awesome start, finishing at a little over 2100, now I'm finished with everything I had plotted...Uh-Oh!

LOL...yes, my ID is not close to what I said it was...nothing close. Try kristin73. I don't know why profiles have to be so difficult to find on the NaNoWriMo website...anywho...I think I'm going to partake in some word sprints tomorrow on Twitter. Last year, those got the juice to flowing, we'll hope for the come thing this year!

  3. I tried this last year, but then my grandma died and, well, obviously that is distracting and a bit of writer's block. So I never finished the book I started. Maybe I'll give it another shot this year. Good luck with your book, Kristin!

I always have a story in my head, but I'm too lazy to write... Like I said I don't know much how it works, but I'll try to reach the goal!

  5. I will definitely share my thoughts with you guys. So far I am hooked to this story. I love it so so much. Maybe I can twist Kristin's arm for a teaser ever 10000 words yeah? But it might not happen.

  7. I have a short story that has been sitting on project table for a while. Been putting more attention into another longer story, however I may see what I can do with the one that is collecting dust for this thirty-day deal. It will be a challenge as I go in for some major surgery on the 9th of Nov. so will see what I can do to write through the recovery pain-yeeeeoooouuch!
Good luck to all, write like the wind my dear writing comrades...

  8. Hey,
Thank you so much Kristin. My story is dark, supernatural and sexy as hell. I have been reading supernatural stories since my time in jr. high school, that started with books like Lord of the Rings, The Day of the Triffids, all and anything by H.P. Lovecraft. Loved supernatural comics as well. I did not realize back then there could be sex in these stories. Now, most are paranormal and all have to have sex and romance in them. I find male writers are not able to dig deep enough into the heart nor deep enough into what women really want sexually.
Please excuse my lack of experience here, I am just learning about and finding my way around book blogging. Some things I just haven't figured out yet. So may I ask, "What do you mean by a ID?" Could really use some guidance in this area.

    1. Well of course I completely screwed up my ID...because I'm in a state of pure and utter frenzy! Wow...sorry about that. kristin73 is my actual ID, so not the one I gave you, sorry.

The only way I've found to add writing buddies is to go to the search on the upper right hand of the page, kind of hidden, and then type in the ID you are looking for. I tried several friends I have participating today and had very little luck.

Isn't everything better now that we know about sex? I think so!

  10. Kristin!! I'm doing NaNo this yar too ;) Got the characters (hah! of course I do) and they are pretty sure they have a story to tell (which I hope to be able to vaguely navigate into a novel). My start is feeling slow, because I can't find the right music playlist for what I need, but I'm definitely giving it my best!

So, let's do this together? My ID is RonCN. Will be adding you! :)

    1. Yay Ron!!! I love that my friends are doing NaNo! I added you as a writing buddy just a few minutes ago. I loved Silent Song, so I'm sure this creation will be just as amazing! Music is a must...I've had a hard time deciding on POV, but I've finally got it, I think!!!

It's much more fun when you do things with people you know!
