Spooktacular #Giveaway Hop - What's your favorite Halloween Read?

Who wants to win a couple Spooktacular books? Well, because Kathy at I Am A Reader, Not A Writer and The Diary of a Bookworm, we've got around 400 blog all linked up for 400ish giveaways! Do several a day, so you can enter as many as possible.

We're even going up a day early! Extra Time!

So, I'm giving you a few books to choose from. Some are new releases everyone's been waiting for and a few will just make awesome Halloween reads. Two winners can pick on novel from the books below.

  9. The scariest book I ever read was 'the machine gunners' by robert westall, it still gives me nightmares now - so that is definitely the scariest book i have ever read!

    Thank you SO much for this GREAT giveaway!!!

    To answer the question, I don't like 'creepy' reads. I do LOVE paranormal romance/urban fantasy involving vampires, werewolves, or shapeshifters (NO zombies, please, unless they're like the ones in Amy Plum's books). I ADORE The Twilight Saga, for example, and now I'm getting into The House of Comarre series. I don't enjoy hard-core horror novels like the ones by Stephen King. Nor do I like Edgar Allan Poe, V.C. Andrews, Dean Koontz, Clive Cussler, H.P. Lovecraft, or R.L. Stine.

    One more thing: I like my paranormal heroes to be good guys, and I want them to beat them baddies in the end!! That doesn't always happen in horror novels...

      I don't read a lot of horror either but from time to time I love to step outside my box. And I'm kind of a sucker for a bad boy, he he. I absolutely agree with you on the Zombie thing, but Revenants rock!

  36. My all time creepy story is the Raven By: Edgar Allen Poe. I must say though that the one story that stands out the most to me is Pet Cemetary By: Steven King. My sister used to be obsessed with it and would rent it every weekend. Talk about creepy.

    1. I want to go back in time and meet Edgar Allen Poe. So much mystery and intrigue. I loved the Raven and find myself rereading it ever so often, when I'm in certain moods.

  49. I haven't read a creepy book in a very long time though all I read as a child was R.L. Stine. His books were as honorific as I got though they weren't really that scary. I am currently reading The Exorcist, it's the kind of book to send chills down your spine. Thank you. :)

  55. I love Stephen King's books. I read Carrie when I was in high school and it really scared the crap out of me. The Mist kept me awake for two days straight. He's the horror's master!

  61. While I loved Pet Cemetery from Stephen King also (although the movie was so horrible after the read) my favorite is Gerald's Game by Stephen King. So creepy but I loved every minute of it.

  85. Anything Stephen King, because he is just the best at scare the pants off a person horror. Another spooky one is Possess by Gretchen McNeil. Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake. The scariest YA that I have read that I can remember is the Possessions series by Nancy Holder. If you want scary, that will do it for you!

  95. Well, I don't know about favorite, but I read an anthology recently called Blood Lite III. That had some pretty creepy stuff in it. I mean, I read a lot of paranormal stuff, but it doesn't really creep me out.
